Workouts don’t have to be done in the gym. If you haven’t the time to go to the gym, do a short HIIT session at home or in the local park. 20 minutes is all it takes. A short sharp 5 minute TABATA session is easy to fit in.
You have less chance of putting off a workout if you arrange to do it with someone else. You won’t want to let them down. Or if you are the sort of person who can find a million excuses why you can’t exercise that day, do it first thing in the morning, then it’s over and done with.
Move to stimulating tunes. Something with a beat that you just can’t help moving your body to. And it has the added benefit of making your workout seem shorter.
Get into strength training – a great way to tone and lose fat.
Stop judging your body so harshly. Don’t compare yourself to others, particularly the images in magazines. You are unique. Aim to be the best version of you, not the best version of someone else.
Dress for your body. Wear clothes that fit your shape and that make you feel good. Don’t worry about size – wear what fits and flatters.
Nutrition
Don’t miss breakfast!! Eating breakfast helps control your weight. Food is energy and you need energy to get you through the day. Make it a healthy breakfast. It doesn’t need to be boring to be healthy. Prepare your own bircher muesli to last several days; summer time fruit salads topped with greek yoghurt, cinnamon and fresh mint; smoothies; eggs all sorts of ways; avocado, feta and salmon on toast – the list is endless.

Don’t forget to treat yourself to a breakfast out now and then without worrying about what you order. It won’t hurt as a treat. Food and eating really aren’t rocket science. Don’t worry about them like they are.
Eat as much fresh produce as you can. If you have a market nearby, shop for fruit and veg there. The produce is usually fresher and lasts longer.
Prepare your lunches to take to work. Not only is this the healthier option, it’ll also save you a lot of money. Easy to make 5 days worth ahead of time and just grab each morning from the fridge. Or make them the night before one day at a time.

Allow yourself treats. Life is meant to be enjoyed, and food is one of the great joys in life.
If you have a food binge (and we all do it), don’t beat yourself up. It’s part of the human condition. Just get back on track the next day.
